General K. Bacon

From Caseyverse Wiki

Created by Leonard Kirke, General K. Bacon is a boar introduced in There’s Something About Foxxo, a short story included with Wuffle, The Big Nice Wolf Year 2 comic collection. He owns a construction business that competes against his siblings, such as his sister. General Bacon is well-known for his rivalry with Foxxo, particularly in light of their history involving construction projects and village economics.

History

Wuffle

[edit | edit source]

General K. Bacon attempted to negotiate a deal with Foxxo to build a mill outside Gingerbread Village that would increase production at Foxxo’s Bakery and provide additional income to the villagers. However, the two couldn’t come to an agreement over a share in the fox’s bakery. Foxxo promised the villagers a 50/50 cut, while Bacon insisted on more. However, the boar’s hopes were dashed when Foxxo declined the deal for undisclosed reasons. Bacon assumed it was over more money, which was typical of the fox, at that time, and scolded him for declining such a lucrative offer that would have benefited the village.

Trivia

[edit | edit source]
  • General K. Bacon is the only true antagonist within the Wuffle canon. Foxxo had hoped for a 30% cut, but the General insisted on an additional 10% cut, double the town’s stake.
  • While Foxxo declined the deal because the mill was going to be built at a place where he met Mighty Joe, the General is what finally brought Foxxo’s greed down a peg. Even if he was unaware of why the fox declined the deal and had never met Foxxo prior to the events of the story, his criticisms about the fox’s greed and lack of maturity were still valid. It was how Foxxo behaved during the comic’s first years, even though they were all played for laughs.
    • Although Mighty Joe was never portrayed as a threat in the main comics and was absent throughout the negotiations because of his initial fear of the general, he later stood up to him in the end because of Foxxo, which ensured his status as a gentle giant.
  • Both the General and Joe know each other by name and are the same height. Aunt Pinky has also crossed paths with the General and knows his first name, “Kevin”.
  • General Bacon is likely based on General Hogsworth when the comics were first intended to be a video game. Both were antagonists who owned factories that would have destroyed land.
