Created by Tony Bark, Kit Welsh is an andromorph badger residing in Bridgeport. They work as either a teacher at the city's Institute of Technology or a doctor at a Gene Clinic, depending on the current labor rotation. Kit is best friends with their student and patient, Max Casey. In their free time, they enjoy playing arcade or handheld consoles, spending time at malls, or stargazing. They are often seen sporting highlights in their black hair and frequently wear backwards baseball caps and pixel art shirts under their jackets. == Background == Created in the mid-2010s, Kit Welsh was initially a raccoon based on Bark's Second Life avatar. This avatar shared a similar attire of a backwards space invaders-themed baseball cap with a brown jacket and shorts. The hat originated from another avatar due to personal preference. Despite Bark's fondness for raccoons, the character remained largely unused throughout its existence. While Bark intended to give it a backstory similar to Marvel Comics' Rocket Raccoon, that concept eventually went to Aidan Cheddar in 2023. Drawing inspiration from Once Upon A Forest, Bark decided to revamp Kit into a badger who works as both a teacher and doctor. They used the avatar's existing attire to cultivate the vibrant personality of someone who enjoys gaming in their leisure time, and the pixel art design was incorporated into their t-shirt. To add visual contrast, they were given blue highlights in their hair. Bark later adopted character traits from Sinclair Lewis' Arrowsmith to further enrich Kit's depth. CharactersNavBox
